Modern heroes or bagong mga bayani, this is how we describe our overseas Filipino workers. They have a great impact not only to their families lives but also to the country’s economy. The billions of pesos remittance of our modern heroes around the world contributes much on consumer spending thus fueling our Gross Domestic Product.
We know how OFWs value their work so much to give their family better lives. I knew it because two of my siblings work abroad. Their struggles and triumph are no secret to me that’s why I salute them for being strong and being determined to reach their dreams amidst the hardship plus the homesickness.
One way of giving back to my dearest sister is sending her Jollibee products whenever a friend or relative flies back to UAE. We used to do this before Jollibee opened in Dubai.

When Jollibee Dubai opened, she patiently waited for more than 3 hours just to have a taste of her favorite Pinoy food. Simple foods that brings so much joy to Filipinos abroad.
The last time she went home was three years ago.She won’t be home this December because she just started to practice her profession as a nurse in UAE.
Now seeing a video of an OFW returning home with a bucket of Jollibee Chickenjoy, I wonder how would my sister feel if she’s one of these lucky Pinoys?
It’s such a gratifying act and a heartwarming welcome from Jollibee. Seeing Jollibee signifies that these OFWs in the video are indeed HOME.
