Probably the largest papal event in history with an estimate of 6 to 7 million crowd, this is how some Vatican officials described the mass presided by Pope Francis in Quirino Grandstand, Luneta Park in Manila last January 18, 2015. I was there with my family and we were among those who witnessed how strong Filipino faith is.
Now here are images of people who swarmed Luneta Park to hear the papal mass, rain or shine.
The busy Burgos corner Maria Orosa Streets where the entrance to Luneta Park and Quirino Grandstand was situated.
People from all walks of life waiting for the mass to start from Manila Hotel side.
In front of the Quirino Grandstand, where Sto Ninos were practicing Sinulog dance.
The actual Sinulog dancers who performed in front of the crowd.
The lay minister busy giving communion.
A view from the stage. Can you figure how many people were present?
