A group of friends went gaga when they heard the news about Kawhai Leonard visiting the Philippines.
They were excited to see in person the 2014 NBA Most Valuable Player and so upon learning about PLDT The Last Home Stand event with Gilas Pilipinas, they didn’t think twice since the proceeds were for charity. In short, they bought tickets the moment it was available to the public.
Actually, the ticket sells like hotcake, knowing that aside from Leonard, James Harden, DeMar DeRozan, Brandon Jennings, Kyle Lowry, Damian Lillard, Terrence Ross, Tyson Chandler, Matt Barnes, Ed Davis, and Nick Johnson were also coming. And so my friends were able to buy the July 23 scheduled match-up.
But tonight, on the eve of their dreaming over Kawhi, the much-awaited match-up did not push through. Instead, the program held was like an open-to-public practice of the NBA basketball stars and Gilas Pilipinas members.
Very sad. A lot of NBA and PBA fanatics cannot accept that they bought tickets worth thousands of pesos just to watch the players practice or do the drill? On the other side, an auction was also held. Stuffs from the NBA stars were sold, the most valuable I read was up to P36,000 for a jersey.
Now, my friends were going gaga about the process for refund. They were asked to call the hotline numbers this Wednesday morning.
Out of disappointment, my friends just went out to relax in a friendly community site using their casino bonus and no deposit bonus codes . They said the no deposit bonus gave them more excitement and profit than watching the basketball drill.
UPDATE: Instead of calling the hotline number, my friend just contacted through email. After a day they received confirmation that they can claim their money at Ticketnet Box Office at the Smart Araneta Coliseum
I have heard about how bad the show was. Everyone started booing when they figured that there would be no game. Good thing there will be a refund.
I pity Big Boss Manny, laki ng lugi nya sa event na ito. The last I heard 200M daw not including the ticket refund.
so sorry for the outcome of the event, i just can’t believe how it has not been handled well by the number one company in the country.
Wow this is just crazy. Even I would get mad if I bought an expensive ticket and not get to see the real game 🙁
I heard about this and I really feel for them. Imagine buying an expensive ticket for a warm-up session? Of course, I would demand for a refund! Whew!
Sad to hear that many people were frustrated about the turn out of this event. But I’m glad they were able to get their refunds 🙂
There was a mix up on how this event was promoted but I have to admire MVP for his humility after the setback. I’m sure his intentions were noble.
It showed the unorganized way of dealing with event management. More to learn in the proess for this kind of big and famous personalities.
Such a disappointment if you paid for tickets and you learn it’s not happening. I’m so glad that refund is available because most often than not, you say sayonara to your money or waiting for your refund could be a huge pain in the you-know-what!
I can’t imagine the frustration the audience felt when they realized what was happening. Eek :s
sayang.. but well you get the refund and still get to see him. 🙂
