Sanrio-style Grand Festival of Lights at the SM Mall of Asia

Putting up the Christmas tree at home made my daughter so happy and lighting up our tree makes her even more excited. Her eyes rolled in awe the moment the Christmas lights started to glow, flicker and dance with the Christmas rhythm. That magical moment made me realize how these cute and dazzling lights enveloped my daughter with joy.

As a mom, I want her to experience the childhood happiness I felt every Christmas, though the places I’ve been with my parents and relatives were now just part of memories and history. But things now are better, brighter  and more exciting because Christmas festivals happen in the merriest place in town – the SM Mall of Asia. Every year, SM Mall of Asia showcased Christmas parade that kids and kids-at-heart adore.

Last November 29, I let my daughter witnessed the Grandest Festival of Lights and I was right, she let go of her happiness while watching Hello Kitty and friends lit up the mall ground with lively Christmas songs ever.

Present in the parade are 12 colorful Sanrio mascot floats, which depict Christmas celebrations around the world.

The moment my daughter witnessed how Hello Kitty and friends greeted everyone a Merry Christmas and brighten up the Mall of Asia, I said to myself I will bring her again here with her cousins and the whole family.

I’m sure you don’t want your kids to miss the Grand Festival of Lights at SM Mall of Asia too. Don’t worry, it happens every Saturday until Christmas day, December 25.

Here are other activities to look forward to during the holidays: Witness the magical SM By the Bay Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 29, Meet and Greet Santa Claus at 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday at the Main Mall Atrium; and enjoy Pyromusical Weekends every Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m. at the SM MOA By the Bay.

  1. Makes me want for my 2 y/o to grow up so that we can enjoy activities like these! This looks like a really fun event 🙂 Anyways I’m still not convinced that Hello Kitty is not a cat 😛

  2. I am also a HELLO KITTY FAN, but this time I stop going to mall because I got sick and need to rest, a total bed rest. Hopefully, next year I will never miss KITTY again.

  3. I’ve seen this the other day and I caught myself from crying because I missed my parents. I missed celebrating Christmas with them (they are OFWs). This is not only a great promotional tool for SM Mall of Asia but this is actually a fun thing to have. Not only are they increasing their customer traffic during the weekends, they are also bringing smiles to both children and adults. 🙂
