Aspiring chefs from SKD Academy in the country once again unite for their annual National Culinary Summit held at Amoranto Stadium, Quezon City last Monday, September 3.
It was a festive day full of fun and activities that encouraged the students to show off their skills not just in hard core cooking, but also in other fields like singing, dancing and sports.
Over 800 aspiring chefs from SKD Quezon City; Meycauayan, Bulacan; Gapan, Nueva Ecija; La Trinidad, Benguet; Baguio City; Rosales, Pangasinan; Lipa City, Batangas; Batangas City and even from Malaysia campus, joined the celebration.
Dalmas said, “SKD Academy is guided by the government’s administrative function of Tesda. SKD Academy is one of Tesda’s stakeholder and partner that implements efficiency and quality skills to Filipino aspiring chefs.”
For eleven years, SKD continues to grow and offer the most affordable matriculation for Culinary Arts school in the country. And the good news revealed – a new campus will open in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro this November.
“SKD Academy is the first Filipino Culinary school to open in Malaysia. They will soon open campuses in Vietnam and Taiwan. SKD Academy in Kazakhstan is also in the offing and it will be the first Filipino school to open campus in Europe,” sais SKD founder Mel Obispo.
Celebrities who performed were JapDolls, while actors Jestoni Alarcon, Mark Herras, Jayson Abalos, DJ Durano and Eric Tai willfully played basketball with SKD students.
SKD Baguio Campus championed the Skills Relay Competition doing carrot julienne, sweet potato chateau; pumpkin chateau; potato torne; carrot cocotte and potato straw.
