The Department of Education is calling on parents of students from public schools and other volunteers to join in empowering the National Schools Maintenance Week or Brigada Eskwela 2014 starting on Monday, May 19 up to May 24.
This program brings together teachers, parents and the community to volunteer in cleaning and repairing facilities like blackboards, chairs and tables in preparation for the school opening on June 2. As usual, parents and volunteers are encouraged to bring their own cleaning materials.
Remember, DepEd recognizes elementary and secondary schools which best implement Brigada Eskwela. Public school officials are encourage to give their best effort for the win. I hope more private organizations, individuals, local businesses, and even local and national government or international organizations and foundations, support our public schools in this advocacy.
