Jogging: Taking it Seriously

Yes, I’m deadly serious in my jogging endeavor. I have a lot of excuses before mostly due to work constraint and the lamest reason – I have no time, but now I don’t let excuses ruin my urge to run.

I admit. It takes time for me to love jogging. First, it was all for the sake of a compromise. That time was the hardest. You know the feeling of forcing yourself to do the thing you really don’t want to do. It’s uncomfortable, isn’t it?

But as time passed by and maybe due to my age, I started to feel and notice some changes. My body easily gets tired. And this made me decide to act for my own health .

I started to think of cardiovascular activity that would be easy for me and would fit my schedule as a career woman and a mother of two. And jogging is the best answer.

In a couple of months, I have witnessed my struggles and achievement in jogging and I’m happy to say that I’m positively developing.Β The first time I took jogging seriously within our community I finished 500 meters and I sensed all the body pains after. I even had my leg cramped.

But today, I can jog up to 7 kilometers in an hour – with no stopping at all. With jogging, I burn a lot of calories and it also made me conscious about my calorie intake. It helps me relieve stress. Jogging keeps my blood pressure low and made me feel light all throughout the day.

And what’s more exciting about this activity? I enjoy it with my family which makes jogging a fulfillment.

  1. Mine is brisk walking I used to do it while I was still living in Malaysia. But I’ve been home since August and have not done any exercise! Omg! ;-( and I’m getting fat and lazy.. Not good… Should start getting serious with my exercise….

  2. I remember, we used to rent a weekend house in Bulacan and I would jog in the morning from 6 to 7am. One morning, 3 little dogs chased me and I was like “Oh no!!!!” I was running like crazy that I think I was able to burn all the calories in my bod. Hahaha!

  3. How about full-time mum doing all household chores, gardening, pushing the parm miles and miles, taking your kids to nursery, play-ground and play group. Being active physically and mentally by being part of our Filipino cummnity, writing article to my blog. Those are few thing to keep my busy and fit. Continue your jogging! Remember no pain, no gain. All the best!
