I thought I’m going to have a hard time convincing my kiddos to exercise by running, but I didn’t fail. For the first time in summer, my daughter and her two cousins engaged in an early morning run – the Nickelodeon Slime Cup Run, held at the MOA Concert Grounds in Pasay City last Sunday.
Actually, it was more of a challenge for me because I came all the way from Quezon province. But for the sake of the kids, I did not bother traveling three to four hours back in Manila. And so we were present at the MOA as early as 5:00 a.m.
We were scheduled for the 1-kilometer run, I took the kids to my sisters-in-law for a while so I can take photos for my blogging purposes, but when I came back, they were already lined-up for the 3-kilometer run – all because of excitement. Kiat, Yan, and Tin joined with Ate Ancille and Kuya Em. I was not able to pull them out of the crowd because the race already started. ย So they hit the track with the rest of the participants. And I was left for the 1-kilometer run, ha-ha.
Fifteen minutes had passed and I still can’t see them on their way back. Twenty minutes and thirty minutes have gone when I finally saw them. Not tired, but smiling until they passed through the SLIME Tunnel Shower. ย For Nickelodeon, the slime is the ultimate symbol of free-spirited mess and the physical embodiment of the unconventional spirit of Nick.
I have to run by then for the 1-kilometer run and I came back as fast as I could even I am racing with the cute dogs.
I finished the track and asked Kiat what happened all the way. She said she ran with Kuya Tin and Kuya Em, but Ate Ancille and Kuya Yan stopped and walked halfway after struggling with the NINJAS until they reached the FINISH LINE.
After showering with slime, the kiddos had to clean and change clothes. They even wanted to go back to the Slime Shower Tunnel. This only shows how they were so honored to be SLIMED for the first time in their life.
We proceeded at the play area where the kids enjoyed several activities from sponsors like Barbie, Happee Kiddie Toothpaste Magnolia Chocolait, Milkita, Lollipops, Plus! Juice Drink, Jiggels. Shopped some toys in the Toy Kingdom kiosk and took some pictures with the Propanย and Happee mascots.
What makes the Nickelodeon SLIME Cup global campaign even more exciting? We’re having fun for health purposes while helping man’s best friend from Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
Watch how SLIME CUP Ambassadors Patrick Starfish and Spongebob warmed-up before the race started.
My family and I were there too! ๐ It was only my hubby and kids who got to join the 3k race though. I had to beg off because I’m pregnant. They enjoyed the experience as well. I was just happy taking pictures and enjoying the different booth activities with them. ๐
I love the slime concept and that it was done to benefit our feline /furry friends. You are a cool mom for waking up that early to support the kids interest. Me and my niece was supposed to attend this but I had to get my car fixed that day.
We didn’t get to attend this because we already had plans but it looks like so much fun. I always watch stars getting slimed. I wonder how it would’ve felt to get slimed!
Im such a fan of nickelodeon ever since i was a kid. and i think this is a good activity to engage kids with exercise and physical activities. hehehe. also a good bonding for parents and kiddos. Looks like the kids really had fun. ๐
Looks like a great event enjoyed by the whole family. I bet showering with slime is lots of fun for the children.
Looks like you had a blast! I wish I could take my siblings. They’re not the sporty type but I feel like they’ll excited once they see the event itself. ๐ Plus, it’s a good way to help support PAWS.
Run like these should hit the shores of Mauritius. IT would really be good for a lot of teenagers in this country. And many of their idols are on Nickelodeon.
Nick is famous for its slime. But I still wonder what it’s made of! Surely a fun treat for kids. Also a great way to introduce the outdoors ๐
Nice! i’m sure it was fun and exciting! ๐ ๐ so happy for you and your kids! You should do this more often with them..
what an awesome event. I wish when my son is older, he gets to experience these as well.
Wow you came all the way from Quezon Province?! Anyway, you’re such a great mom. I mean you teach your kids to be physically active in such an early age. Hope all the moms out there will do the same since health is really important.
Great !! ๐ Looks like a lot of fun!! ๐ I’m sure you enjoyed your time there!! ๐
Daig pa ko ng mga anak mo haha… I haven’t gone on a marathon yet, but I really want to try it, just to know how it feels like. I think it’s good that you are imparting the importance of health and fitness to your kids this early.
Looks like you all had fun. I have mom friends who participated there as well. I wish I joined and let my daughter run too. Really a fun experience! Xoxo!
